the baby bird

the bird looked like a tiny dinosaur, too small to have feathers or know to open its eyes. its mouth folded back, a hinge, and one stub of wing flopped. i could see the outline of its heart. it had fallen from the nest up on our tree. its brothers and sisters had poked their heads to see. i wanted to go near and touch it but Chris pulled my hands back as if i had did something really wrong.
"never ever touch it" he said. but why? we should help those who are sick and weak and this bird looked sick and weak and didn't our parents teach us to help those who are sick?
"i just want to put it back on the tree"
"if u touch it, the mother would not want it anymore. once a human touches the baby, the mother would not want it anymore."
"but wouldn't it die here?"
"lets wait and see"
i wonder off to pick up leaf to keep that little bird warm and wait for its mother to pick it up. but we waited till i could barley see the heart bit of the bird. "is he going to di..e?"
"no" he said "lets just wait a bit longer."
we looked up at the tree and for the first time i realize that the shape of the leaves on the trees look so nice. it blends in with the baby blue sky.
the mother bird flew back and found out that she lost one of her baby. looking down she flew down and pick it up with her beck. she took it up and slowly fly up. when she reached. she flew down again and landed in front of us. she looked like she is telling us "thank you"
" i told u." he said and hold me by the side. i looked at him.
"if i was a bird and someone touches me would i die?" he hug me closer. "if you were a bird, i never would have let you fall out the nest."

♥ ...I'm glad you're the one I spent it with.
